MANAGING PARTNER
Funmi Olatoye-Oladimeji is a recognised topnotch commercial litigation practitioner with expertise in minority shareholders protection and corporate governance. She has over 10 years experience of legal practice. Over the period, she cultivated vital skills in arbitration and litigation; developed a trajectory of winning intricate cases for individual and corporate clients. Prior to founding the firm, she worked with Funminiyin Afuye & Co. as Head of Chambers and Remi Ayoade & Co as Legal Associate. During this period, she handled high profile cases in electoral matters, represented High Net-worth Individuals and politicians; involved in debt recovery, chieftaincy, financial and land disputes; and provided legal advice to both corporate and individual clients. Funmi is adept at advising financial institutions over a range of commercial transactions. She is also well known for her work in family matters, dissolution, adoption and custody of children. In addition, she is a fellow of Institute of Certified Management Consultants, a member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, member of Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and a Doctorate Researcher concentrating on minority shareholders protection and corporate governance at University of Ibadan.
SENIOR PARTNER
Mr. Kwaga was admitted to the bar in 2009. Prior to joining TAG Chambers, he had worked with Yakubu Hussaini & Associates. He has an excellent understanding of policy analysis and research. He is a Public Analyst on Political Economy subjects in Nigeria; he is lightning quick on his feet and advises with real gravitas. Vahyala worked with international organisations like OCP Policy Institute, Economie Enterprise, Ford Foundation, IDRC/CRDI Canada and The Centre for Public Policy Alternatives. He was involved with the following notable projects in various capacities: • Morocco – Nigeria: Bridging the Synergies. • 21st Century Dialogues Series: Articulating a Post 2050 vision for Nigeria. • Accountable and Responsive and Capable Government-Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn. He provided political economy analysis to the Client as regards its existing DFID Mandate on improving public service delivery and governance in the North-East.
SENIOR PARTNER
John Uthman is an Honours Graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University. He was called to bar in 2009. His years of experience over time has seen him appear at various cadres of the courts within and outside the jurisdiction of Lagos. John is highly proficient atinitiating legal proceedings in many areas of the firms wide practice and exhibit tactical and technical ingenuity for the expeditious resolution of matters. In an aviation matter, at Federal High Court, John was able to argue a case in line with Article 20 of the Montreal Convention that a proof of negligence is an exception to the section which the Nigerian Civil Aviation Act also provide. He has successfully initiated and concluded several divorce petitions, cases bordering on declaration of title to land, breach ofcontract and civil disputes.
PARTNER
Mrs. Adenike Onasanya is a Legal Practitioner and a legal Analyst. She graduated from the University of Ado Ekiti where she obtained her LLB and was later called to the Nigeria Bar Association in the year 2012. Adenike is a member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria. She has engaged in series of training with the Nigerian Stock Exchange among which is the Statutory/Regulatory Annual Reports Disclosures Workshop. She is highly skilled in reviewing and drafting of vital legal documents including contracts, legal memos and litigation filings.
ASSOCIATE
A graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Chika was called to Bar in 2014. She worked briefly with National Industrial Court and joined TAG Chambers from C. J. Jiakponna & Co. She specialises in handling criminal cases, and her practice areas include: Criminal Litigation, Property Management (Real Estate) and Mediation/Conciliation.
